SAFEGUARDING

“The objects of the Company are to carry on activities which benefit the community and in particular (without limitation) to [facilitate fitness and exercise activities in local parks and community centres. To promote healthy lifestyle change through fitness and heathy eating choices’ and wellbeing/mild mental support and awareness. To promote and provide information, advice and guidance, advocacy and mentorship on Education, Training and Employment (ETE) opportunities, housing, gang exit strategy, financial support, mild mental health related issues, isolation/ social exclusion, benefits. To engage and provide one to one and group holistic support to local community residents, hard to reach individuals, those who are Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET), those entering or in the criminal justice system, gangs, being exploited, unemployed and socially excluded. In addition, will provide holistic support and engagement to disadvantage young people and adults from all ethnic, gender and religious background who are aged 16 to 65 years old and above with fitness, health and well-being at the forefront of our programme and casework interventions].

Resolute To Change CIC will not tolerate the abuse of young people and adults in any of its forms and is committed to safeguarding young people and adults with vulnerability, care and support needs from harm.

This policy outlines the steps Resolute To Change CIC will make to safeguard a young person and adults with vulnerability, care and support needs if they are deemed to be at risk or at risk. This policy sets out the roles and responsibilities of Resolute To Change CIC in working together with other professionals and agencies in promoting the adult’s welfare and safeguarding them from abuse and neglect.

Resolute To Change CIC will ensure that decisions made will allow young people and adults to make their own choices and include them in any decision making. Resolute To Change CIC will also ensure that safe and effective working practices are in place.

This policy is intended to support staff and volunteers working within Resolute To Change CIC to understand their role and responsibilities in safeguarding young people and adults. All staff and volunteers are expected to follow this policy. The key objectives of this policy are for all employees and volunteers of Resolute To Change CIC to:

• have an overview of adult safeguarding
• be clear about their responsibility to safeguard adults
• ensure the necessary actions are taken where an adult with care and support needs is deemed to be at risk

This policy is based on:
- The Care Act 2014 and the Care and Support statutory guidance
- London Safeguarding Adults policy and procedures
- Islington Safeguarding Adults Board’s local procedures and appendices

Copies of this policy should be available within Resolute To Change CIC and Resolute To Change CIC will not tolerate the abuse of young people and adults in the organisation and staff and volunteers should be made aware of how this policy can be accessed.
